James Howlett, known as Wolverine, is a mutant character portrayed by Hugh Jackman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), specifically in Deadpool & Wolverine.

This variant of Wolverine has previously appeared in the Fox X-Men film series, prior to Marvel Studios regaining the rights. He is recognizable for his healing factor, adamantium skeleton, and retractable bone claws. His first appearance was in The Incredible Hulk #181 (1974), but this version is specifically the character carried over from the original Fox productions.
